CHEF JENNIFER BOOKER

Cookbook Author, Professional Chef and Owner of Your Resident Gourmet, Chef Jennifer Hill Booker is ‘Saving the world one dish at a time’!

 

GA Grown Executive Chef and Cookbook Author, Jennifer Hill Booker, believes that “food should taste like food” and for over 20 years has spent her culinary career educating people about food, nutrition, and healthy cooking practices. As a culinary educator, she has been in a prime position to demonstrate the ease, affordability, and importance of cooking and eating seasonally, and has shared this information in the classroom, cooking stage, original published recipes and in her first cookbook, Field Peas to Foie Gras: Southern Recipes with a French Accent, (available at Pelicanpub.com )  

 

Chef Jennifer earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Tulsa, graduated at the top  of her class with an Associates of Occupational Science from Oklahoma State University and went on to earn top honors from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Paris, France with a Base de Cuisine certificate. She is a member of the Atlanta chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International, the Georgia Restaurant Association, Slow Foods-Atlanta Chapter, and Georgia Organics. Among her many honors, Jennifer was selected to be a GA Grown Executive Chef, by the Georgia Department of Agriculture, where she travels the state representing Georgia family farmers.

 

A personal chef and recipe contributor to such publications as Essence Magazine, Jezebel, Southern Seasons, Urban Socialites, Basil Magazine, and Sister2Sister, Chef Jennifer recently launched YourResidentGourmet.net a food blog focusing on healthy eating, culinary trends, travel, and living well. She volunteers her time and resources to the Edna Lewis Foundation, Chefs of the World: A Taste of Fame scholarship gala, Africa’s Children Fund Annual Fundraiser, Cooking Matters, and Les Dames d’Escoffier International’s GreenTables Initiative
